"Light yet warm" 01/01/13
The RHO LTW top and bottom make a great base layers. The ant-microbial claims of wool are true. You can get stinky one day and the next morning they doesn't smell. I've been told that wool (unlike synthetics) can start to wick sweat vapor before it starts to coalesce into sweat beads While I am not an expert on this, I am certainly inclined to believe this based on empirical observation. I went on a moderate hike just the other day and I never noticed any sweat beads forming. At the end of the hike I was getting very warm and opened the zipper on the jersey and dumped a bunch of heat. All in all, I am very pleased. I've had both RHO LTW products now for 2 months and love them both.
"Bottom line: Excellent" 06/15/10
For the taller than your average Joe such as yours truly (6'6", 36" inseam) it is so pleasant to wear a product which actually fits correctly. The fit is only half of it, however. I find these bottoms to be significantly more comfortable than synthetics -- more breathable, warmer, and softer. I also like that they snug without feeling tight or constricting. My only quibble: the little side pocket seems like over-engineering to me -- as if Arc-Teryx was looking for a solution where no problem exists -- and theoretically they would be less expensive without it. Nonetheless, an essential for skiing, backpacking, and usable for running.
"A must have for anyone with an active lifestyle in very cold conditions." 01/29/08
Amazingly warm. I wore them with jeans in 5 degree weather and felt cozy. I have somewhat sensitive skin so the wool became a little itchy near the end of the day. I have purchased at least 10 arc'teryx items and have never been letdown. Great company, great product.
"Great product" 01/25/08
I am very happy with this purchase. I'm tall, with a long inseam 35 and these were long enough for me. The itchiness factor improves with washings. I was skeptical about wool underwear but the positive reviews I've read everywhere convinced me to make the leap. No stink, breathable, and warm. If you are wool sensitivie, however, you will notice them.
"Thumbs up!" 01/09/07
my husband and I both got these and absolutely love them. His special request were long underwear-like but not anything that would grab his leg hairs and still keep him warm. The Moosejaw service guy steered me to these and we both love them. Kinda pricey but worth it.
