Product Description Item No.   10220069

I'm predicting the Arc'teryx Men's Nuclei Hoody will be the most ordered jacket by Moosejaw employees this winter. What's not to love about this lightweight, compact, trim-fitting, insulating layer? I'll save you some searching.... there's nothing not to love about it. Insulated with synthetic Coreloft (with less in the sleeves and side panels to reduce bulk) this jacket eliminates cold spots and will keep you warm even when wet. The interior stow pocket and clip-in point ensure that the Nuclei is always ready for any trip.... especially a multi-pitch climb (but also especially for the day to day commute).

FEATURES of the Arcteryx Men's Nuclei Hoody

  • 80 g Coreloft core body warmth with 60 g Coreloft sleeves and side panels to reduce bulk and add mobility
  • Snug fitting hood keeps the heat trapped close to your head
  • Interior stow pocket for stuff sack storage
  • Clip-in point on stuff sack allows it to be carried on your harness
  • Two zippered hand pockets

Chest / Bust - Measure around your chest / bust, holding the measuring tape under your armpit.

Waist - Measure around the natural waist, which is often the narrowest part of your waist.

Hip - Measure around your hips at the widest part.

Sleeve Length - With your arms in a slightly bent position, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist.

Inseam / Pant Length - From a standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.

Head Circumference - Measure the full circumference around the widest part of your head.

Hand Length - Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the palm.

Hand Width - Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb.

• Please note that all the info provided above refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket fits me so well and keeps me warm. When I bought this jacket to layer with my Theta AR I was hesitant if it would keep me warm when climbing. Both are so light, especially the Nuclei jacket. Surprisingly this jacket is so comfortable as a layer or on it's own. ,,,,I don't regret buying it at all. I'm 6 feet 1 and the large fits me well. Large enough for a thin base layer and a light fleece to go underneath. The jacket packs down to a very small stuff sack very quickly and it's nice that it's attached to the jacket. Take it out, and you're warm.,,,,I run warm on activities so this was a good decision. I love it and look forward to the next trip above 14K.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great piece of outdoor clothing for compact, insulated, layerable warmth and good Looks! I bought this jacket as a gift for my husband in preparation for an extended canoe/hiking trip in the Arctic. He is very discerning when it comes to gear and outdoor clothing. He needed something that was hooded, would provide insulated warmth but also be light and layer well under rain gear. He reports that this a "fantastic piece of gear," and that it packs up smaller than his non-hooded Patagonia micro puff, and he likes the way it looks. He doesn't throw around these accolades very readily, so this is a great find! I honestly haven't seen it yet, since he is already in AK awaiting my arrival, but he generally knows what he likes when it comes to outdoor gear. He is 6'1", 185 lbs, and a large fits him perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I bought this jacket to use as an outerlayer in the fall/spring and midlayer in the winter. It has a great fit and is nice and light for the warmth provided. Also packs down nice and small. The hood is not helmet compatible, but fits very well with or without a beanie. I have not had the opportunity to wear it enough to fully test its durability so unable to comment on that. Overall a great jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Incredibly lightweight warmth I bought this even though thinking it was a bit pricey but I am happy I did. This coat is incredibly lightweight and amazingly warm for what it is. I am comfortable in single digits while walking the dog for 10 minutes or so. It is also compressible but still very warm as a layer on the couple of subzero days we've had so far in Vermont this winter. This is a great coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket I bought this for my bf for Christmas and he absolutely loves it so far. The fit is great, he's 6'4" lean build weighing about 195lbs and the XL is perfect, sleeves are long enough and there's still a good fit in the body even though he's on the thin side. He hasn't had a chance to go camping with it yet but it is super lightweight and packable, and very warm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy Great Jacket! The deep background. Was annoyed at Arcteryx when I zipped into my Atom SV Hoody and Alpha SV and found the front hem of the hoody was longer than the hem of shell. The gear docs at Moosejaw helped me out with this in trying on the Nuclei Hoodyand Alpha SV shell at work, so I sent the following email:Thanks Moose-folk! Be there in a bit to take one off your hands! There is an old Tibetan Buddhist saying, "You can never beat the moose!" I could tell you the whole story but then you would fall asleep or quit your job and go live with the sherpas. Both would get me in trouble with your boss, so forget the story. Most Tibetans will tell you they do not know what a moose is unless you say yak and explain the antler thing! (mental imaging of pantomimed explanation is required).,,Sothe Nuclei Hoody is on the way. I'd already bought the Alpha SV and hands down it is the best shell jacket ever made. The Atom LT Hoody is just as good, so can't wait for the Nuclei to get here. More later!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent jacket Great jacket, I have used it mostly as a belay jacket, and it is light and stowable enough to work perfectly for this. It also makes a great light weather outer layer, or a cold weather mid-layer. Great athletic fit, and I don't have a problem with the jacket interfering with my harness. Another well made product from Arcteryx

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Looking, missing a key feature I would recommend spending more and buying an Arc'teryx Cerium. The color, almost black, is excellent. However, the Cerium has an adjuster on the hood, this jacket does not. It only sorta fits if I wear a baseball cap. I also wish the back (waist area) was not longer than the front (just my preference).
