"Worth every single cent" 03/15/11

Okay, yes, they're very expensive pants. But they make playing in the snow, for hours on end, an absolute joy. Pair them with 200- or 260-weight wool long undies and they'll take you to below 10F, comfortably.

"It's a party in my pants!" 12/08/10

That, is how I feel when I put on these pants. They move and stretch with you (just like sweatpants) so they are absolutely perfect for mild weather mountaineering. They are also really breathable so you don't get too sweaty! And, just like the Gamma MX Hoody, it sheds light amounts of water well (but a hard-shell pant would be handy to keep on hand). I really love the crampon guards on the insides of the legs. They are some of the best I have ever seen on a pair of soft-shell pants.

Yep. I've had these pants since they came out way back when , I think around '03. They accompanied me to the Himalayas in India, a mountain goat hit on me, it thought I was hot in these. These fit snug, but not over tight and can be used over a wide array of temps. 4 way stretch, and adequate protection from rain, very good protection from wind. Equivalent of the warmth of 200 wt fleece pants. Buy them damnit!

BEST Softshell pant ever! Used in Europe and loved them! Great for cold weather hiking and snowshoeing. Wish the cuff of pant was a larger bootcut for ski boots, o'well still great pant. Vote for OBAMA!!!!!!!!!!!

"Best soft shell pant on the market" 01/13/08

I can't even begin to tell you what a great pair of soft shell pants these are. I spent a long time looking for a pair that I could use for hiking on cold days or snowshoeing, but that were also warm and water-resistant enough to use for skiing. Needless to say, I eventually found the Gamma MXs. Comfortable, warm, breathable, good fit, water resistant, great features and attention to detail. Enough said.

"Versitile and very warm" 12/16/07

Wear them climbing, snowshoeing, or skiing. These are really versitile pants. Arcteryx makes the highest quality gear. They breathe and regulate temperature well so you don't sweat like other pants or hard shells. Soft on the inside but I wear them with a lightweight poly-pro thermals and never get cold. Wore them last week on a climbing trip with temperatures in the single digits and was always warm and never sweat in them.

"Light but warm and the cut is perfect" 05/05/07

The athletic cut is perfect for ice climbing. My previous pants were too baggy and caused problems, like crampons getting entagled with the cuffs. These pants are also good for skiing. I'm tall and slender and being able to select a Long pant with Medium waist sealed the deal for me.

"Expensive, but get them." 02/21/07

Haven't had the chance to wear these yet, but they are everything I expected. Very nicely done, looks like they will be warm and windproof.
