"I dumped someone so I could spend time with the Jacket."
          10/09/09
This is truly an amazing jacket. It is extremely light but somehow is extremely warm as well. Not a drop of rain or wind gets through. On top of all of that it is very fashionable. I have been getting compliments all of the time.

"Ubelievable! If there was a perfect jacket.... This would be it."
          09/13/09
This jacket is awesome. Recently went skiing and it was perfect. Wasn't bulkly like other winter kackets. It has a slim fit that makes it keep in the heat. I would sugggest anyone to buy this jacket if they are looking for a great product with better upside.

"Best Jacket on Earth"
          08/20/09
This is the second Gamma MX I have purchased for me and I have also purchased one for my wife. Weather we are in NYC, Aspen, or San Francisco - I do not go anywhere without it. Great temp regulation. The design is clean enough (especially in black) to wear out to restaurants in the evening and burly enough to take skiing out of bounds. Note: this jacket was originally designed for climbing, so it has a very athletic cut. If you need/appreciate little room, go a size up.

"Wind and water resistance for active adventures"
          05/11/09
I recently wore this jacket while in the high altitudes of Switzerland. It more than protected me from the brisk, unpredictable weather. Light snowfall, wind and light sleet/rain was no match for the Gamma MX. Common sense would dictate that for more severe weather, the Fission AR slips on over this jacket with ease.

"Expected more warmth for 350 bucks."
          03/09/09
As highlighted in many of the reviews, this jacket is stylish, fits true to size, and provides great range of motion if you are being active. However, I was really let down that this is much more of a lightweight jacket than something that is going to stand up to strong wind and low temperatures. I've found that a better alternative to the Gamma MX jacket is TNF Apex Bionic Thermal. It's much better suited to stop the wind than the Gamma, and the inner material is warmer than the thin polartec layer in the Gamma and is about 150 bucks cheaper.

"Favorite soft shell ever!!!!"
          02/20/09
I love this jacket. Its super-functional and warm despite being really lightweight. I use it as a middle layer for snowboarding along with a base layer and an Arcteryx shell and I'm comfortable in temps from the upper teens through upper 30's. If its a warm sunny day, it also works great as an outer layer while riding. Outside of snowboarding, the jacket is awesome on fall days, and looks great to wear around town.

"Kick A__ jacket! Need I write more? But I will..."
          02/16/09
I purchased the vermillion jacket for those warm ski days. Thankfully, it's been warm enough to wear it in the dead of winter--keeps me toasty and dry. The fabric resists dirt and limb burns when you're skiing the trees, and the waist draw cord ensures that no cold air goes up your back when your catchin air. When you're hangin in town going to your favorite coffee house or to work, you'll get all the looks because the jacket's cut is form fitting and athletic. You'll be happy you spent the money, because Arcteryx is clearly THE BEST. If you need waterproof for a cold, snowy day, go for the same color in the Scorpion.

"Look like a bamf even if you're not"
          02/14/09
I'll begin with (insert made-in-China rant here). At 5'1l 3/4" and 155 lbs an M fits perfectly with a hem just long enough to stay tight under a harness, but not long enough to get in the way of racking gear if you let it hang loose. I prefer this happy medium in a climbing/alpine/ice jacket where long bouts of physical activity are followed by (hopefully) short belay rests. The Gamma is thin and is NOT an insulating layer, but I have used it in concert with a single wool underlayer in temps down to zero F with heavy winds--just keep moving. YMMV. For bar-hopping, go hoodless. For ice/alpine, consider whether the hooded version may be better.

"Most excellent jacket for the outdoors enthusiast."
          06/18/08
I've put this jacket through its paces snowboarding, hiking, and climbing, and it continues to impress. Soft shell works great for layering, and stops wind and rain dead. Love the longer sleeves, makes for great mobility while climbing. Also, I get comments from femaliens all the time about how nice the jacket looks! Winner all around.

"The best soft shell on the market guaranteed"
          06/11/08
I have used this jacket in every situation. From climbing, hiking, skiing, to pub crawls...it can take any abuse hurled at it. It gives you a real sense of confidence in poor conditions. Breathability and movement is unparalleled, i highly recomend this all rounder.

"Best jacket ever"
          05/21/08
Four years ago I bought this jacket. It has lived up to all my expectations and is the best jacket I have ever had. Now my old jacket is worn out, so I purchased the same jacket again, this time in a funkier color. Still the same awesome jacket. Perfect for light rain and chilly weather.

"Great Jacket!"
          03/10/08
Everything I expected from the reviews I searched. Fits me perfectly. I am 6'0 and 160lbs. Especially love the arm length as finding sleeves that that have enough length in a Large with a lean fit is often impossible. Fabric keeps me warm in high country 0 degree temps on the ski slope with only a fleece underlayer. If there is one thing I would change it would be a double zip as I do like to vent the bottom when biking. I know it's a weight issue, but still with it was there. Really, really like this soft shell!
