"Rad fleece" 03/27/09
Been with this fluff ball all winter now. Its been on just about every adventure from subzero treks to hardcore lounging. Let it be abundantly clear that although this is one of the raddest, warmest fleeces you can get for the weight, the wind cuts right through it. It will act as a furnace if sported properly under a technical shell of some sort. In fact, Delta SV + Shell is just about as warm as any down puffy and actually makes for a great belay set up. Construction also facilitates great ROM, so this would be a great option for a winter climber’s aspirations. Packs down into a surprisingly small package despite gratuitous loft. Shitake is a lot greener than depicted- NBD.
"Watching Taliban trekking in the tribal regions of the stan...this is your new woobie!!!!" 02/24/09
This is my favorite piece of kit...well second to my rifle. Anyway, this high-pile fleece has survived extreme conditions and combat and yet is soft enough lure the girlfriend to cuddle up and get close. Just an awesome adition to any layering system. I have the Patagonia retro-x jacket as and handsdown the Delta SV is the winner. Pair it with a mid-weight capilene shirt and your good to go in the 20F zone.
"It's not off-white, but its still cool!" 08/06/08
Great fit and craftmanship! The rough exterior gives it a certain 'cool' -- typical of Arcteryx. Warm and comfortable, and very good-looking. Pricey as are all things Arcteryx but a great value. I was a little disappointed that the 'Shitake' color is different on the website than in Real Life, but I've gotten over it.
"Great jacket! Expensive though!" 07/16/08
Gotta love the fuzzy feel -- get random cop-a-feel moments all the time when I'm wearing it. Like most Arc'Teryx gear, it fits slim and snug. My big-boobed friend couldn't get it zipped up all the way comfortably then again, they do have women's versions I think.
"Soft as a baby's bottom covered in high loft Polartec" 02/26/08
This thing is super fluffy and soft. Women ask if they can touch the jacket all the time, which I'm sure is because Arcteryx added secret pheromones to the fleece. The Delta SV is loose enough to wear over normal clothes, but fitted enough to not make you look like a fat North Face slob. My favorite part is the fleece inside of the collar... it's like a chinchilla nestled against my neck. Buyers should know that this thing isn't wind proof, but it's not supposed to be. Wear it solo in cool weather, or pair it with a shell when things get nippy for an unbeatable insulated combo.
"Buy it. Don't just say you are, DO IT!!!!!" 02/21/08
Pretty much the best jacket I've ever owned...I got it in Shitake, which is sweet, but definitely not as white as it looks in the pic, kinda more like sorta a little bit khaki...Anyways, all day at school people come up and start petting me while I'm wearing this it gives them and excuse to feel my muscles probably but seriously, it is a babe magnet. Every self respecting outdoorsy guy that lives in a different town than me should definitely own one.
