"Very good quality, super light." 		          09/25/09
This is a great jacket, and most of the time it's warm enough for most conditions. It packs very very light, so it fits easily into a pack. My only complaint is that the hood is a little big. It's fitted for helmets, but since I am usually sans helmet, it can droop a little far forward. There are 3 hood adjustments, and after fiddling with it I have it adjusted properly. But the hood "pull back" adjuster needs more play.

great jacket. solid hood (love the tightening system). BUT, the sleeves are terribly long and not atheletic tight- more like gangsta baggy.

"Stop thinking about it and Get it" 		          03/14/09
I originally bought this jacket about a year ago for skiing, and in that respect it is phenomenal. when combined with say a vest and a long underwear I was very comfortable in 10 degree weather, very windy 10 degree weather. And then came spring, rowing season. This coat does extremely well in keeping out the elements and allowing for perspiration. during the season I used it in temps ranging from 32-70 degrees and I really never felt like I was caught in a rain storm... even though i was in one. All in all it is an excellent jacket.

"If you are in need of an amazing waterproof jacket to layer under, then this is for you." 		          02/10/09
Lets just say, this jacket ROCKS! The material is insanely lightweight, thin, and breathable. I just wore it out in the rain for 45 mins and with a quick shake it is clear of water, not one part of the jacket is wet. The pit zips rock, making it a year round jacket, breath-ability is top notch. The only thing I can find that might bother some people is the jacket material is fairly noisy. Who this jacket is for: Anyone who needs an incredibly lightweight no frills jacket for rain and year around comfort.

"Two Thumbs Up!!!!" 		          12/12/08
When I got the Moosejaw box in the mail, I thought they forgot to put the jacket inside, but they didn't. The jacket is so light, in a good way. I was a little skeptical at first until I walked outside and watched the snow repel right off the sleeves. I also couldn't believe how the Beta AR kept the wind off my torso. Awesome Jacket! Hands down! Be sure to research the different types of Gore Tex jackets because this is a lighter one that you will have to wear an extra layer of warmth under in the winter. This isn't my first Arteryx product and surely won't be my last!! Thanks Moosejaw!

"My Best Friend Outdoors Forever" 		          11/19/08
it took me a lot of reseach to decide which of the many Goretex jackets to choose from, Patiants pervailed, alas, it has been decided after many head scratches, Arc'tryx sets the benchmark for whitch all other jackets fail to be! wishn it had a bidirectional front zipper, pit zips do it, WHY NOT FRONT ZIPPER! DOH!! i've gotten over it.

"To Stay Dry- Buy This Jacket!" 		          09/17/08
The Gore-Tex Pro Shell mixed with Arc'teryx's construction make this shell bombproof, not to mention it'll keep you dry in the worst down poor you can imagine. Not too thick to cause over heating when you get a rain in warm temperatures (pit zips are great). If you are looking for a shell, you can't go wrong with any of the Gore-Tex Pro models, but some fit dif. so if you can try one on, do it. Some are longer cut and some shorter. The Med. Beta AR fits me well in length and I'm 5'9", it's snug on my 185 lb. frame, but that's how I like it, because I use my Stingray in any situation I'll need an insulation layer. The medium should be good for anyone 5'6"-5'9" that weighs 155 lbs. to 180 lbs.

The Beta AR is a great jacket. The color Red is awesome, it fits well, a little light though, but keeps you dry, especially in a hard rain. Haha it repels water so well that under running water from the kitchen faucet my arm was completely dry. The hood is nice too because you can adjust it and it is large enough to fit over a helmet. Overall it is a excellent jacket and well worth the money.

great jacket , awesome fit, feels more like a rain jacket than a backcountry ski jacket,i guess most waterproof shells are the same though. good athletic fit but still plenty of room for layering. and could use some type of lining for warth for the price. Maybe a powder skirt would be nice.If u got money to burn its a great jacket. Wicked fast dlivery from mossejaw. Can't beat the free returns. Thanks.

Here is the low down Coat is super light weight, fitted body, short comes about 2-3 below waist line, longer arms with deep/wide arm holes for maximum movement. The hood has two adjustments that actually work and it can be fitted to your head, and another adjustment to pull the hood up higher on your head so it doesn't block your vision. The hood cannot be stored away in the back of the collar, it's always exposed. I purchased the jalapeno color, its darker than pictured, but still sick. I have received a lot of compliments
