Chest / Bust - Measure around your chest / bust, holding the measuring tape under your armpit.

Waist - Measure around the natural waist, which is often the narrowest part of your waist.

Hip - Measure around your hips at the widest part.

Sleeve Length - With your arms in a slightly bent postion, measure from the center of the back of your neck, along the length of your arm, to the wrist.

Inseam / Pant Length - From a standing position, measure from your crotch to your ankle.

Head Circumference - Measure the full circumference around the widest part of your head.

Hand Length - Measure from the tip of your middle finger to the base of the palm.

Hand Width - Measure the circumference of your hand around the knuckles, excluding the thumb.

• Please note that all the info provided above refers to body measurements, and NOT the dimensions of the garment.

Next to Skin Fit - These snugly-fitting garments are made with stretch fabrics to fit next to the skin to enhance moisture management and thermal efficiency. Garments in this fit category when constructed using Arc'teryx's heavier-weight AR and SV fabrics also perform very well as mid layer pieces, and users should consider selecting a larger size to accommodate a base layer underneath if the intention is to use this layering system as a mid layer option.

Trim Fit - Trim-fitted garments share the motion-friendly traits with Arc'teryx "Athletic" fit garments, but are patterned with lower volume for reduced bulk. These close-fitting pieces layer well under other garments.

Athletic Fit - This is the "Arc'teryx Standard" fit. These complete patterns utilize anatomical shaping and gussets to enhance motion by minimizing excess bulk. Easy layering under or over each item extends seasonal versatility and comfort.

Relaxed Fit - Relaxed fit garments rely on higher volume patterns and a reduced amount of articulation to offer roomy mobility.

Expedition Fit - Cut roomier than the Arc'teryx Athletic fit and suitable for winter/extreme conditions, Expedition (XPD) fit garments are cut larger to accommodate multiple layers without binding or restricting movement.

• You can find the fit type and additional fit info for Arc'teryx styles in the product description FEATURES and SPECIFICATIONS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very versatile I bought the LT and SV at the same time since I wasn't sure which to get. The LT is absolutely amazing but I ended up sticking with the SV since I will mostly be using it in winter and am not worried about how well it packs.,,In some ways.. the LT is more of an amazing jacket than the SV. You expect the protection the SV gives you from that fabric but not the 3-layer Gore-Tex protection from the LT. It is truly an amazing thin and light fabric. ,,If you want a very durable, lightweight and protective jacket that is good to pack and use for many different things... I'd go with the LT. (Lichen is probably the neatest color I've seen in person - I already miss it)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, year-round jacket. I bought it for skiing, as well as for everyday wear. I also have an Alpha SV. They have the same cut, and I'm very pleased with both. The LT is slightly lighter and more flexible, and makes a better jacket to wear any time of the year. The SV is heavier duty, yet still light, and would be better in more abrasive situations - carrying a pack, rubbing against trees, etc.., than the LT, but the LT has not had any problems with skiing wipeouts. I'm 6'2", 225 lb, and have an XL. The L fits, but I like the extra room for layering, and the arm length works for me. I also like the color (Lichen). If I had to pick one, I'd get the LT because I use it more often.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Expensive, but worth it! I bought one of these last year, and it is hands down the best technical shell I have ever owned. It is totally wind-proof, and I have never had the inside of the jacket get damp or clammy, even on the shoulders under pack straps where all my other shells have failed. After two seasons it still is totally water-proof without any treatment. In foul weather having one of these is liking being in my own tent, and with a good baselayer and insulating layer I have not been cold even in some really bad weather. And, unlike several other jackets it has not torn or marred despite several run ins with branches and rocks. A bit expensive, but worth the money if you have it!,,,,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a work of art Everything is exactly where it should be, pockets right between all your pack straps, 3 hood adjustments get you the perfect fit, little bit of felt behind the zipper in front of your face. One of my favorite parts is how when you roll the hood off your head, the bungees keep the bill lightly pressed up the back of your head, covering the inside of the hood so no rain or snow can fall in. Freakishly light for how tough the material feels, which is great cause I can use it for winter and 3-season rain jacket duty. Only downside is of course the cost, but this thing looks like it will last for a long, long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Seriously, can't be beat Arcteryx, Alpha LT, nice. I am so damned tired of all the BS some of these companies spew about protecting the environment while manufacturing all their stuff in either China, Vietnam or else where over there. You guys seen the air in China lately, like berating out of a diesel trucks exhaust. Arcteryx makes this stuff in Canada where they actually give a sh _ _ about there citizens. This is an outstanding hardshell that too me is PERFECT, light as a feather but tuff as nails. I have the Theta AR and the Alpha LT along with a number of other AX products. Not one of them have EVER disappointed me in any way, which is why if I need something and AX makes it I buy it period.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Incredible jacket, not so incredible waist line. This jacket rocks. Weighs nothing and is incredibly breathable. Used it in the Shawnee National Forest in southern IL in July (wicked humid time of year) and didn't feel stuffy in it at all. It's comfortable and the pockets are big enough to store my i-phone, a knife, a lighter, and some other random items. My one complaint is that the waist may be a bit small for my liking. During the summer (and fall I presume) the jacket fits great because I'm not too layered up. I'm a bit worried about how it will perform in early spring on the mountain when I am layered up. I have the small and I am roughly a 31" waist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent fit and tough fabric As a member of Gore MountainTechs, I have the opportunity to field test GORE-TEX gear in some of the harshest conditions. This jacket is seriously top notch. Very high quality outer fabric that has withstood some tough abrasion. Very waterproof, good breathability, and pit zips help in really warm situations. Hood fits helmets well, but can feel a bit bulky without a helmet (even when cinched down). Nice zippers all the way around. A slim fit (which I like) but the waist is just wide enough to fit me. Length is perfect on sleeves and torso (I'm 6', 185 lbs, and have a Medium for this jacket.) Overall would highly recommend this jacket for moderate to extreme conditions.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Huge hood for full mobility, light weight, and plenty of room for layering. After having my old rain jacket stolen, I tried "climbing" models from Mammut, Mountain Hardwear, Rab, and OR, and with a helmet on and the hood up they all restricted my ability to move my head. However, this jacket has a HUGE hood, making it perfect for people with long necks and/or big heads (literally).,,,,I also love the weight of this jacket. My rain jacket usually just sits in my bag, so I don't see the point in carrying around an extra pound or more for something I try to avoid using.,,,,Finally, I like the overall fit of the jacket. I have plenty of room underneath to layer in higher-than-freezing temperatures, yet it doesn't feel baggy or get in my or get in my way.
