The dirty bird's web claims 17in laptop, but my 15in laptop can't fit in the sleeve. due to the curved profile on the back, the sleeve doesn't let me push in my laptop. It totally defeats the purpose, as now I have to buy a sleeve to protect my computer. the rest of the design is really nice, but the computer sleeve is worthless.
I use it for school, hiking and biking and it has never let me down. The bag feels comfortable no matter how you adjust it for height range. It takes a hydration bag and will accommodate a laptop computer (up to a 15"). There are 2 water bottle pockets and three other exterior pockets for easy organization and quick access.
"A grerat all around day pack with thoughtful features"

I use this backpack for day hikes or to carry stuff I need when I'm out of town (usually camping) and I love it! I holds everything I need and gives me the option of bringing along a water bottle in the side pouch or a hydration-bladder and it even has a loop on the shoulder strap for the hose. It has a sleeve for my macbook or ipad and its very comfortable no matter how much I cram into it. It has a hook in the small top pocket for your keys and pockets that are large enough to accommodate your smartphone/blackberry/iphone. It's a great all around backpack!
Arcteryx has done it again! You will love the durability and ease of use that come with this pack! I have used it for everything from hiking Mt. Whitney to commuting to work. The only thing that would be nice is a few extra straps or loops to tie things off and attach things.
