The Arc'teryx Altra 50 LT Pack is a weekend pack for powering through the backcountry trails in one to three days. The pack keeps weight down by utilizing the C2 suspension system of high density polyethylene foam in the backpanel for support and structure as well as PU foam in the straps for comfort. The outside fabric is super durable for traipsing through tall grass and deflecting bear claws. Maybe not the claw part, but it is silicon treated for water resistance so you have time to throw on your rain cover. The side zippers allow access to the inside of the pack without opening up everything along the way. On the inside of the bag you'll find plenty of space for gear, with a hydration sleeve for a 2L bladder. Throw smaller items into the Wingman side pockets, like your camera, which can be opened without removing the pack. Never miss snapping a quick pic of the porcupine you happened upon. Additional small items can be stored in either of the dual pockets of the top lid, or remove it completely on super-light trips. Weekend warriors unite!

ARC'TERYX MEASUREMENT GUIDE
How to Find Your Foot Measurements
Arc'teryx packs are sized either in 3-length options: Short (S), Regular (R) and Tall (T), or in 2-length options: Short/Regular (SR), and Regular/Tall (RT).
Sizing refers to YOUR OWN BACK LENGTH
Measure your Back:
• Measure along the spine between the 7th cervical vertebra and the level of the hip iliac crest
• Compare this measurement to the Sizing Charts
• It is possible to interchange different size shoulder strap and hipbelt components on many Arc'teryx Packs, but this will not change or affect the back-length of the pack.

Working in the backcountry, I take this on vacations.I have a junker pack that I use when i'm working in the backcountry but when I want something thats really comfortable, rides excellently off the hip belt, and weighs next to nothing I grab this one. Maybe not officially super light, the 50 liters goes a lot longer than the weekend trips that the description mentions, week to two week trips are easily done with it. It holds weight close to the body and the simple design is a breath of fresh air compared to some 5-6 lbs of pack that seem to keep adding trinquits. the only thing it could use is an ice axe loop.

Great All Around PackTook this pack through Europe and a New Zealand winter and have no complaints. Pack is comfortable and the side entry into pack is handy. It is a smaller pack(50LT) but it seems like you can always find room to cram more in. Highly recommended.
