The A 300a Harness by Arcteryx, designed with ice cold precision, is a hyper-light and compact mountaineering/ski touring harness that doesn't sacrifice comfort for performance. Stripped down to the alpine essentials this is the lightest, most compact, and most comfortable fully-adjustable alpine harness on the market.

Adjustable leg loops
Thermoformed tie-in point
Wear safety markers and tie-in points
Warp Strength Technology
WST load is evenly supported across entire harness structure
Two injection molded reversible/removable gear loops
Three self locking buckles
Hook and loop drop seat
Keep away from corrosive substances (battery acids, gasoline, automobile motor fluids, solvents, bleach, etc.)
Store the harness in a dry, dark place
If the harness becomes wet, air dry it before storing
Hand wash in warm water with a mild soap (never use bleach), and air dry away from direct sunlight

"Great harness" 11/14/11

I was really scared to use this for the first time because of the belay loop. Its like 2 mm thick? I was wrong. This thing is rock solid and seriously one of the most comfortable harnesses i have ever worn. I have tried trango, petzel and some blackdiamond harnesses and this by far blows them out of the water. I forget im even wearing the thing. I will say this. I bought a large of trango's harnesses and it was pretty small so i went with an XL of this just to play it safe and i have toooooons of room to go. So, a large will probably work if you are about 34-38.

"Great for the High End Climber" 07/28/11

This is a full on harness, and not for the faint hearted. The first thing you'll notice is the belay loop is quite skinny compared to your average top rope rig. It is fully rated so no need to worry but it might not stand up to lots of abuse and the designers know that so they put a bright orange wear maker inside to let you know when it's time to get a new one. 2 gear loops means it's not that great for long trad climbs but with a chest sling I don't have any problems. The removable plastic gear loops take a little while to figure out but make wearing it under a pack sooooo much easier. All in all a great alpine harness that wont weigh you down.

"Hands down the most comfortable harness" 01/22/11

This is a stripped down alpine harness but I use it at my local climbing gym.Let me start with the cons-There are only two gear loops, I wish there were fourIt seems like most of the harnesses I tried on were thick with padding. This harness is very think and light weight. My first thought was that a thin harness like this would be uncomfortable in comparison to thicker/bulkier/padded harnesses. But it is more comfortable.I would recommend this to anyone looking for comfort and quality from a trusted brand.

"This is hands down the most comfortable harness I have ever worn." 01/22/11

This is a stripped down alpine harness but I use it for climbing at my local climbing gym.Let me start with the cons-There are only two gear loops, I would prefer to have four for lots of quick drawsMost harnesses are pretty thick but the A200a is made from a very thin very light material. The buckles are self locking and the leg loops are adjustable.

I meant to do more real rock, but had a kid so this thing seems to see more of the gym than anything, but I have no complaints.

"Hang tough" 08/17/09

Great harness. Feels super secure and comfortable when hanging or even when your belay buddy gives you a more sudden brake. Adjustability is an added plus.

"Super comfy, big price tag" 06/07/09

This harness is truly great. It is so comfortable, I hardly notice that I'm wearing it when I'm climbing. I mostly trad climb, and it works perfect for that. The downside is definitely the price. If you can manage it, though, you should definitely get it!

"Perfect for top roping, not so great with alot of gear" 05/18/09

So I bought this when i was mostly top roping in the gym and leading short routs with 3 or 4 quickdraws. Now i find that 2 gear loops is just not enough. Other than that im in love! the material is top notch and it feels like your wearing nothing at all. Even on climbs where i spend more time resting or falling than climbing i have little to no discomfort. Overall great harness for light-gear applications.

"You will feel like a cat in a cradle" 08/28/08

I just wore this harness to the top of Cotopaxi and Chimborazo in Ecuador. Awesome piece of equipment! Super light, functional, comfortable, and has all the right parts with nothing extra to get in the way or add weight. Sometimes, though, I had to check to make sure I really was wearing it. If you do technical climbing at altitude and plan on carrying a big rack, this may not be the harness for you. This is more of an alpine style harness.
