Great for long distances!I am a recent Altra convert after finding that yet again my foot has gotten bigger thanks to trail miles! After needing to go up yet another size, I decided to give Altras a try because they felt so light and looked wide. Wide isn't how I'd describe these shoes at all. They're actually SHAPED LIKE A FOOT. Instead of cramming all your toes together you can let your feet spread a little bit, giving you more stability and comfort. I even switched all my running shoes to Altra after trying these shoes out. As a hiking guide, I am on my feet all year round and these shoes will hold up to all conditions in the Southeast. I'd recommend this shoe to everyone!

Great shoe, but a little sloppy. This shoe is very comfortable and fits a touch bigger than my other Altras (Superior 2.0, Torin 2.0, One2). The sole has lots of cushion, but still leaves some ground-feel. They have a perfect amount of flexibility, and my feet still feel protected from sharp rocks. Can't comment yet on durability, as I've only had them a couple weeks. The only drawback was the fit of the upper through the mid-foot. My wide feet need the Altra toe-box, but I have a narrow heel. I lace them up fairly tight, and my feet still slip around a bit inside, especially when they get wet. If I tie them any tighter, then the laces cut into the tendon at the front of my ankle/foot. If you have a high-volume foot, or you don't mind some movement inside, they will be great.

Go to running shoeThese shoes are the only ones I wear for ultra marathons. They run true to size (unlike other altra models).
