I think shoe reviews are difficult to relate to because you really need to try them on to see if they fit YOUR feet. Anyway, I purchased these to replace an old pair of Timberlands where the front of the toe box was starting to fall apart. After trying on a couple shoes from Keen and Patagonia I felt these fit my feet the best. I like that they aren't too narrow. I guess if I'd compare it to the fit of running shoes, they fit more like New Balance than Nike. The lacing system could use some improvement. It felt like they loosened a bit while hiking up Mt. Si. I just might need to try different methods of tying my laces. They provide excellent grip on loose gravel and wet rocks; I felt secure in my footing. All in all, happy with my purchase.
