"This is a solid med kit with a few weaknesses that keep it from being 5 stars" 04/29/09
It's a solid medical kit with enough medications, creams, bandages for most wilderness related injuries and circumstances. For the price though, I'd expect a solid ace bandage and a better blister kit. It does the job and doesn't take up much space! Good work, Moosejaw!
"Essential for any avid hiker" 04/30/08
Sweet kit, does everything you thought it would do, but it could use a little more of the bare essentials. Many of the things in here are used for very specific emergencies, and this takes away from space that could be used by something more useful. First thing you should do is take the manual, read it and never put it back in the kit again, it just adds weight and takes up space.
"Nicely packaged, good quality medical kit" 01/14/08
As a physician I was going to pack our own medical kit, but decided on a whim to purchase a pre-packaged kit, then customize to suit. Was pleasantly surprised to see that it's well-stocked and that little needed to be added. The liquids are packaged in sealed applicator packs that should make it past the most astute TSA personnel without transferring to a zip lock plastic baggy. If you are traveling to an area that might have ticks, i would add the Pro-Tick Remedy which should be easier to use than the Kit's tweezers for tick removal.
"It is light weight and compact. Perfect for day hikes." 12/18/07
I carried this light weight kit through Tanzania, Africa and two weeks in Costa Rica. It has enough in it to fix cuts and scrapes, but for major repairs I'd add a few more items to the kit.
"A great winner for any outdoor trip. Must have!" 10/30/07
A bommer FA kit. Great for hiking trips of all kinds. I really like the selection of medical things they have in it, and there' still room for adding your own things. Plus, it's totally idiot proof and has what to do, when and where all written out for you. Light as well, but still quality.
