The 66North Women's Snaefell Parka is a knee length parka for shielding yourself against cold, wet winter weather. The cotton/nylon/polyurethane shell is tough enough to take on the weather, 100% waterproof/breathable in fact, and even has the power to age with confidence. As you wear it, it will gain a vintage appearance, and with those super cool real leather button straps over the zipper you'll love it more and more every year. Insulated with Thermolite and a classic explorer hood (with removable, artificial fur, of course), you'll be toasty warm whether walking the park or walking the streets of your hometown city.
FEATURES of the 66North Women's Snaefell Parka
A new feminine cut parka, falling at just below the knee in length
Classic, polar explorer hood with detachable artificial fur for those days a hood is simply unnecessary, or if you don't want to ruin your good hair day
Inside pen pocket as well as zipped pocket to keep your important personal items safe and secure
The drawcord in waist gives a more hourglass shape to the parka, while the two lower front pockets and two chest pockets keep it a simple and elegant design. Big pockets equal so much storage space for those little red and white mints.
Real leather button straps on zipper, wind flap and snap adjustment on cuffs to give it a touch of contrast and texture
Rib inner sleeve cuffs help keep the warm toasty air in and the cool gusts out
All seams taped for waterproofing for extra protection against the elements, keeping you nice and dry when the world around you isn't
The Thermolite insulation contains hollow-core fibers with a larger surface area for more warmth, meaning it provides superior warmth without the bulk of down and is machine washable
The jacket lining fabric is 100% Nylon while the shell is a blend of 55% Cotton, 18% Nylon, and 27% Polyurethane, making this a durable windproof and waterproof parka to battle whatever is thrown your way
Waterproof: 5.000 mm H2O MTVR: 5.000 g/m2/24h

Satisfactory, but not the best choice for me.I bought this coat to wear to Iceland instead of wearing my Canada Goose coat, because it was waterproof and supposed to be very warm. The fur trim on the hood did a good job of deflecting wind and keeping my face from getting too cold. The coat was warm enough when wearing multiple layers underneath, but was not comparable to the warmth of my Canada Goose coat. It would probably be warm enough in a cold climate with no wind. I found it very difficult to zip, so I waxed the zipper with the only thing I had available - Chap Stick. That helped over time. The outside pockets are patch pockets and it is difficult to put your hands into them if trying to keep warm, but they are large enough to hold gloves and a couple of other small items. It would be much better if the coat also had side pockets. The inside zippered pocket was sufficient for safely holding money, etc. The length of the coat was fine for blocking wind from the legs and boots protected the lower legs, but I didn't find the length that warming otherwise. The style was somewhat bulky and not very flattering when zipped closed, but looked fine unzipped. The lining in the arms was cut on the slim side, so you need to layer underneat with non-bulky layers - not fleece. I am 5'2" and 110 lbs and bought a small, which was a bulky fit everywhere (even though the lining in the arms was slim fitting). As far was being waterproof, it was that without question. I spent a lot of time in rain and it never soaked through the outer layer of the coat, simply beaded up and rolled off. You might want to detach the fur lining in rain or it will be soaking wet. The coat worked fine for my purposes, but isn't one that will be my "go to" and I don't think I would buy it again if presented with other waterproof winter coat choices that had a more flattering for. I am giving it 3 stars, because it basically fulfilled what I needed, but could have been designed with better pockets, more warmth and a more flattering fit.

Bring on the cold weather....please?Last winter in MA was a doozy - So I promised myself a new coat this year, one that covers my nether regions.
Sadly I have only worn it twice (temps in the high 50's/low 60's) but I was cozy AND stylin'.
I already love the quality of 66North products and just from the feel and finishes know this Parka will last as long as my other 66North jacket (7 years and counting). This makes me happy because I hate shopping (sorry Moosejaw :/)

So warm.Bought this jacket last winter (was living in Iceland) in charcoal which is actually a grey-green. It's very classic looking and more importantly incredibly warm and well made; so warm that when you're walking around in the driving wind and you feel like you never left your house. It runs large though so I bought a small (I'm 5'9, 36-29-39) though I usually take a medium. It was very much worth the investment.

very warm and cuddlyIt was -10 wind chill today in Washington DC and I wore my new parka for the first time. The hood is amazing and keeps you so cozy and warm. Sometimes the zipper gets stuck but i'm willing to overlook this. The color was a little off from the picture but the awesomenesss of this coast makes up for it! mooooo!
