My name is Dustin, I've been told I have "luscious locks" and I'm "a Sagittarius". Fun facts about myself:
  1. I'm an Eagle Scout
  2. I've never had a perm
  3. I love everything about the outdoors, except mosquitos, tree roots, and bugs that look like leaves.
  4. I have my own personal cobbler since my left foot is 1.5 inches smaller than my right foot.

Get to know Moosejaw, Ann Arbor

Our Moosejaw shop has been a staple in Ann Arbor since 2005, which was the same year the the Shake Weight was invented. I'm not sure if that's true, but you could probably google it. You'll find us on Main Street, between E Liberty and E Williams, right across from The Chop House. So fancy. Drop in the Ann Arbor Moosejaw shop anytime you want to

We can provide everything for your outdoor needs and if you ask us politely we will even show you around U of M Campus and all the great places in Ann Arbor to nap. Fact: NASA has even reported that we can be seen by the naked eye from the Moon...if you squint. That's not true.
The goods are coming. Stay tuned.
Events calendar coming soon.

If you live in Ann Arbor then you probably have at least 4 jackets by now. Obviously I've bought all my jackets from Moosejaw because we carry the best stuff from the top brands such as: Patagonia, Arc'teryx, Mountain Hardwear, Marmot, and The North Face. Plus you get a discount when you work here. So there's that.

You'll find a wide variety of jackets at any of our shops including down, ski, water-proof, GORE-TEX, insulated, and softshell. We also are the best place in Ann Arbor to buy fleece or casual jackets for that cold midnight rendezvous at the Diag during the winter. For the late Spring streak fests to the Bell Tower, we'll probably be out of stock of whatever you think you'll wear (or won't). Also, crushed pineapple is better than rings. That's all.
Ann Arbor has more toe calluses per capita than anywhere else in the US. That's not true, but seeing people walk barefoot around here can be adventure. But whatever your outdoor foot or shoe fetish might be, the Ann Arbor Moosejaw shop has something in your style. Moosejaw's been keeping it real with only the best men's footwear and women's footwear and even kids' footwear. There's rock-climbing shoes, trail running shoes, hiking shoes, shoes for barbecuing, pool-shooting, and shoes for making fun of your sister. When you're at our Ann Arbor Moosejaw shop you should also check out the selection of Keen sandals. We heard someone hid candy in those. Also they are great for kayaking and canoeing the Pinckney and Waterloo Recreation Areas.
I only started to climb so that I could tell girls that I climb. Also, you should see the girls at Planet Rock. It's unreal. If you're down to learn to climb you should most definitely come into the Ann Arbor Moosejaw shop and we will get you all set up for trad climbing, top rope, sport climbing, gym climbing, and bouldering or whatever else you want to climb.

For climbing shoes, we've got lace-ups and slip-ons, from La Sportiva, 5.10, Scarpa, and other badass brands. We'll get you fitted for a climbing harnesses from Black Diamond, Arc'teryx, Petzl, Metolius, or Mammut. Then we'll also show you all the other fancy stuff you can use during your early morning ascents of Burton Memorial Tower on campus. Other stuff can be used at all Ann Arbor restaurants and acupuncture clinics. I'm talking ascenders, belay devices, including the Petzl GriGri 2, ropes, slings, protection - all kinds of stuff really. We've got like a mega ton of carabiners, both locking and non-locking, plus quickdraws. Plus we'll teach you what all of that means so you're sure to impress all the Pretties.
First time I went backpacking I lost my toothbrush. It was the worst. You should totally try it though. Come into the Ann Arbor Moosejaw shop and we'll outfit you for whatever kind of trip you're planning. Whether it's a simple day hike, a long weekender or an ultra-light excursion from Ashley's to the Jolly Pumpkin.

We've got day packs, top loading packs, multi-day packs and ultra-light packs from Osprey, Gregory and Arcter'yx. Camp stoves and cook wear from Jetboil and MSR. Thermarest sleeping bags, ENO hammocks, and down or synthetic sleeping bags for any season in and around Ann Arbor. You also might want a tent or something. We've got some of those too from Marmot, MSR and Big Agnes. Then of course all the other extras you're going to want like headlamps, water filters, and dehydrated meals and trail bars. I just gather nuts and berries that I find along the trail, but not many people can do that.
Clothing seen on people from Ann Arbor can be described as a colorful blend or velvet, gabardine, and some occasional velcro. More importantly, at the Moosejaw shop you can find just the right clothing for whatever you're looking to do. Plus we carry all the best stuff from Patagonia, The North Face, Marmot, Mountain Hardwear and Outdoor Research.

We've got the casual stuff like Moosejaw tees and hoodies. We've got moisture-wicking base layers and mid-layers made from cotton, wool or synthetic materials. You'll also find weather-resistant and quick drying pants and shorts. We've got different types of socks and even some underpants. Almost forgot, ladies - we also carry a nice selection of yoga pants and tops from Lole, Prana and Lucy.
