Design a functional Bugaboo stroller for use in the city as well as for leisure activities, with a focus on the parents, appealing to the fathers as well as mothers. With this idea as his final project, Max Barenbrug, founder of Bugaboo Strollers, graduated with honors from the Design Academy in Eindhoven, The Netherlands, in 1994. Together, with his brother-in-law - physician Eduard Zanen, who was closely involved with the Bugaboo project from the beginning - they tried to sell the Bugaboo Stroller design, but stroller manufacturers considered the design unviable and too revolutionary. Fortunately, the duo continued to believe in their innovative Bugaboo stroller concept and decided to manufacture the Bugaboo strollers themselves. In 1999, the first Bugaboo stroller made its debut on the street of Holland.
