Arc'teryx or Arcteryx?

I have always been an avid hiker, biker, climber, and skier, but most of all; I am an exceptional speller and a grammatical genius. I am too old for spelling bees and no one likes having their grammar corrected, but I am a very good scrabble player. I love Arc'teryx with my heart and soul, but there is just one thing about Arc'teryx that bothers me. Who made that apostrophe? Why did they spell it Arc'teryx rather than plain old Arcteryx or even Arc teryx.

Confronting Arc'teryx about Arcteryx

I wrote the staff over at Arcteryx about the spelling, and didn't hear back within the day, so in a total frenzy, I wrote another letter to Arc'teryx and you have just got to hear about it. I started things off real mellow, not talking about spelling, just trying to get them warmed up by raving about my Arc'teryx Maverick SV Jacket or my Arc'teryx Gamma SV Jacket, and how it is attached permanently to my body. I told them that their Arc'teryx Delta SV Gloves were the best scrabble gloves money could buy. I made a smooth transition into talking about the Arc'teryx Alpha LT versus the SV and how wonderful both make me feel. Then I just came right out and said they needed to drop the apostrophe. I am not sure that was the best move. I can't go without mentioning the amazing Arc'teryx backpacks, either.

Arc'teryx or Arc Teryx - neighborhood opinion

I haven't heard back from the staff at Arcteryx yet but I am anxiously awaiting their feedback. I have started to do a door-to-door campaign and a local neighborhood discussion group to find out what their opinion was on the apostrophe is Arc'teryx... but then the New Year hit and I started pondering my life. I am proud to tell you that I have let go of my anger and resolved to wear my Arc'teryx gear with pride and just be the best speller I can possibly be.
