getting back into it with young kids after 15 yr hiatus. coming from old gregory packs and this one is awesome. technology has def. increased. highly recommended.
I use this for my climbing trips in the Red and love it. It's incredibly comfortable for lengthy hikes with the beautifully breathable mesh suspension. It also highly adjustable if you need to compact it down or add more to it. Not too big or too small. There are plenty of compartments and the rain cover is a lifesaver. My only complaint is that if you're using a bladder, it takes away some of the space in the pack itself. I'm also relatively small and taller than average, so I have to adjust the waist the tightest it can go. For any long torso'ed folk teetering between sizes, I would recommend the M/L. Definitely the pack for adventurers.

I’ve heard many good things about Osprey that I decided to purchase one. I was torn between the Kestrel 68 & 58. I'm not the biggest guy around so I decided to go with the 58. I made, quite possibly, the best decision of my life. I'm fairly certain my wife doesn't read these reviews. Anyhow, the 58 was perfect for my first leg of the Arizona Tr. It was extremely comfortable, even loaded at 37 pounds. I recommend you practice setting this rig up correctly on your back. It makes a world of difference! I was able to adjust the Kestrel so that it was very comfortable to carry. The mesh back kept me from sweating like my non-Osprey friends on the hike. Get your pack and get out!
