"Great beginners harness that also won't slow down a novice climber"

Bought this as my first harness and I thoroughly enjoy it. It is fairly comfortable and lightweight. It does tend to ride up a little bit but that was only a small annoyance. It only has a strap on one side for the waist but it works well. The ATC device worked flawlessly and the screw lock carabiner was great. The chalk bag works but I found it to be a little small for my hands. Overall a great package for beginners or someone looking at getting their own gear.
Used this harness as rental before buying it, best starter package out there. One complain would be the chalk bag only comes w/ a tying string, and the hole is kinda small for the bag opening. Use a double fisherman's knot for the string then you'll be fine.
I recently bought this harness package for climbing my local rock gym. For the price it was great. I have everything i need to climb and belay. Have only used it a few times but it has performed well. It is way more comfortable than the rentals I've worn.

I bought this as my first harness and let me tell you, I love it! It fits comfortably and it's easy to adjust. The chalk bag is decent though I did change the strap on mine. The carabiner and ACT are easy to use and a great addition as well.

This is a great deal. The harness is comfortable and comes with elastic speed buckles for the legs, so it's quick to put on and fits properly. The tension on the ATC is just right too. The chalk, bag, and carabiner are basic but good quality. I'm 5'8, 150lb and a medium fits just right. Also, it all comes packaged in a small mesh bag that is perfect for storing climbing shoes as it keeps them together, but allows them to air out at the same time.
This is a really great deal for any beginning climber. You get everything you need outside of shoes for a great deal. The quality is great. I have had mine for about a year climbing around 20 hrs/week and its still in great shape. My buddy has the same one and one of his load straps broke but this did not happen to mine. All in all great deal.
You cant go wrong with this harness and the price it is at. It is extremely comfortable, and plenty for most climbers. The manufacturing quality is fine, and I have found no flaws in the material. If you are looking for a new harness or your first harness it is hard to go wrong with this one. My chalk sack was grey which I am more than happy about, however it is on the small side. The the carabiner and ATC are what you would expect and perfectly awesome! Great product Black Diamond!
Black diamond you've done it again!!!! This is my second black diamond harness, the first being too big. Now that I actually got my but in this thing it is truly awesome. The self doubling back waist strap and quick draw leg straps are amazing. You put it on at the beginning of a climb and it stays put, no slowly coming loose like some others do. The locking biner and belay device work great. The chalk and chalk bag is nice to, perfect size chalk. So you don't feel like your hauling around a grocery bag. Over all nice starting kit for anyone looking into climbing rocks or at the gym.
I purchased this harness with the intent of wearing it. Turns out it was a little too big so my brother inherited it. He is loving it!!! I'm about 5'10 and 150 lbs. So if your around that I would consider the medium, unless your legs are like tree trunks (mine are more like tree branches). Thanks Moosejaw.

Love this harness, super comfortable. I will say that they tend to run a little small. I am a 34 waist and the large seems pretty tight on me. Chalk bag is marginal. It's pretty small. Great biner and belay device!
This was my first harness, and I bought it because it was on sale at the time. I didn't know what it would be like because I didn't get to try it on first. Turns out it is a great harness. It is comfortable and easy to adjust. I've used it mostly for gym climbing, but it's got plenty of gear loops for outdoor climbing. The chalk bag is fine, although definitely a little small. I can still get my hand in just fine. I would have preferred an orange one; the one I got was black. It also comes with my favorite type of non autolocking belay device. This type of belay device is really simple and works well.
