not bashing the shoe at all but just want to let anyone know that if you are planning on getting your shoes that you order from here within 2 weeks then dont bother these people have the most unorganized shipping methods of any website i have ordered from. Get your act together if your going to promote a business.
"super comfy, edges real well, great for an intermediate to advanced climber!" 03/08/12
I've been climbing for a couple years and haven't tried a scarpa shoe (lived next to the five 10 outlet, so i was a bit brand loyal), but I'm sooo glad that i've been introduced to this shoe. I have a fairly large foot, especially the ball of my foot from other sports, and have found many of the down-turned shoes hurt. The leather is soft and there is a layer of leather going slightly past the heelstrap so it doesn't bug me one bit(i always hated the chaffing my old shoes gave me). The velcro straps are made well, and aren't overly long, the straps won't overstrap leaving you a long tether from your foot. All I can really say is that i love it!
"Wicked Pissah'" 03/06/12
I bought a pair of vapors last summer as my second aggressive shoes (first were Muira's that I sized too small and returned). I immediately fell in love. I sized down one, and these shoes have stayed just snuggly enough, but were NEVER painful. I've climbed on puddingstone, granite, and gym holds, and these shoes have performed flawlessly on all textures. Overhanging boulders and sport routes, no problem. Technical edging, no problem. The ONLY thing that didn't quite work out for me was jamming my feet into cracks with these badboys, but who cares, that's not what they're for! I have Scarpa Techno's for Trad and cracks.
"the best climbing/fitting shoe I have ever used" 02/11/12
These shoes do not stretch. Best for bouldering and sport. The design with its cupped sole, great rubber, lateral rigidity and pretty comfortable fit allow it to stick to anything. I wear US size 12 and the 45, the largest Scarpa makes in this model, fit me very well.
"Great shoes!!" 09/07/11
I bought these last year and have loved them every time I wear them. I wear about 11.5 street shoe and went down to a 9.5 (42.5); they were extremely painful when I started with them and have barely stretched so I still have to take them off every couple of climbs to avoid any serious damage to my toes. If I bought these again I would probably go up half a size. These shoes, if bought tight, can really hurt. I did sport in these a couple of times but would be in pain by the time I reached the anchors. These work best for tough boulder problems better than they do anything else.I highly recommend these shoes for anyone looking for a harder shoe to climb in.
"Awesome shoes, great for intermediate and advanced climbers." 04/27/11
I recently purchased these shoes and I must say they are the best. The fit is tight, the sole sticks nicely, and toe works great in small cracks. They are not as down turned as the picture makes them to be but overall they work well for bouldering and overhangs. For those comparing shoe size, I'm 12 street shoe and have worn 11.5 in evolve. For scarpa I downsize to 10.5 (43.5) and so far it has worked well although the adjustment period may be painful. They have not stretched much so beware of that. I highly recommend these shoes.
