"Quite the upgrade." 09/09/12
I did all my rock and ice climbing in a BD Bod harness for about a year, so I decided it was time to get something a little more comfortable for long days. This gets the job done. The material is plenty rugged and hasn't gotten marked up much after scuffing in chimneys and leaning against trees. Gear loops are large enough to hold an entire Adirondack trad rack with some room to spare. Looking forward to getting some ice clippers for the winter instead of fumbling with carabiners.
"Great Product" 08/16/12
The Black Diamond Aspect Harness is a reliable climbing harness. I climb two to three nights a week in the gym and usually climbing outside on the weekends. The bullhorn-shaped waist belt is very functional, I have been on long multi-pitch climbs and always felt comfortable in the harness. The speed adjust buckles are excellent, no need to worry if you are double backed. I have had this harness for a while and never had any issues with it, I highly recommend it.
"Super Comfy." 01/23/12
This is the most comfortable harness I've put on. Doesn't dig into your legs or cut off circulation. I love not having to double back. Just pull tight and you're done. I couldn't be more pleased with this harness! It even looks sweet!
"Comfortable Harness" 01/12/12
I've had this harness for over a year and it's held up well with one exception - one of the leg strap retaining loops ripped out (not a strong point). This is the second BD harness that I've had with this problem. I have no concerns about the safety of either harness but it's annoying that those loops break. That's really my only complaint about this harness, other than that it's comfortable and doesn't hurt to take a whipper in it. I've taken 20+ foot falls that are like landing on a cloud (at least until I swing into the rock). If BD could just make the retaining loops stronger it would be perfect.
"great year roun harness" 11/26/11
This harness is so great, my brother stole mine until he replaced it. I love this harness for ice climbing and alpine climbing. It is lightweight and the foam doesn't allow any ice or snow to get in and add weight. The 4 ice clipper slots are also great for adding ice screws to your rack. Carabiners and quick draws also attach without a fuss to the molded loops. The leg loops are also very comfortable for taking falls on rock or indoor gyms during the off season.
"good for the beginners" 07/23/11
have had this harness for a year now and have been climbing 3-4 times a week in this since. Its a good beginner harness, cumfy, no double back bulsch, kinda have a hybrid of sport and alpine climbing. not the lightest either, after a while the waist stretches out for me so when i take a hard fall on the sport route i have to end tightening the waist mid climb alot of times. i got the medium and have a 34 inch waist, and i do the shimy to get the harness on but once on, theres about 3 inches of belt left, still has a enough room to tuck jacket or shirt through it. ill be looking for a lighter sport harness in the future
"very comfortable harness" 01/19/11
I started using this harness a few months ago and I didn't even know a harness could be this comfortable. I previously had a Black Diamond Ozone, which is a thinner lightweight harness, but it was pretty agonizing when I took a fall in it or when the person I was belaying fell. Now it's like falling on a cloud. Don't spend more money for less harness. The only annoying thing is that for the first several uses, it is very stiff, but after a while, it loosens up.
"Like Falling on a Cloud" 12/20/10
Great harness, no doubt. Falling is suddenly extremely comfortable and the autolocking mechanisms make life so much easier without worrying to double-back and all that jazz. The only thing I would look out for is that when initially putting on the harness the double-back feature for the waist hinders the ability to get the harness on easily. I'm a 32 waist and the medium fits perfectly, although a little shimmy is necessary to get it completely on. Highly reccommend this excellent piece of equipment.
"Really nice harness!" 10/27/10
I'm really happy with this purchase. I went to REI to try on all their harnesses and dangle from the ceiling for a while. Once I tried on the Aspect I loved it. I even tried on an Arc-Teryx harness that cost twice as much as the aspect and it wasn't as comfortable as the aspect. So once I decided I went to Moosejaw to buy it, of course. The construction is outstanding. The double-backed buckles are wonderful. And, it makes your junk look great! Yuppers, it's a good harness.
"So comfortable!" 09/30/10
So I've only been outdoor climbing once (mostly do indoor climbing) but that happened to be the first time i got to use this harness. Let me just say I could sleep comfortably while wearing this harness (though that's not important). The padding on this harness is almost form fitting. It hugs you in all the right places without violating you. I'm a fan of the buckles which are already double backed. While climbing the harness was very un-noticeable which was rockin. You won't be disappointed with this harness
