The Men's Gamma LT Pant by Arcteryx. Tour lightest Softshell pants are designed for mobility and breathability while hiking, climbing, guiding and backpacking. The Gamma LT by Arcteryx features articulated patterning for superior range of motion, and laminated construction enhances durability and comfort. Made with lightweight Fortius, a highly durable and weather resistant four-way stretch textile.

DECENT FEATURES of the Arcteryx Men's Gamma LT Pant

Fortius 1.0 fabric is durable, lightweight, with good stretch DWR finish
Elasticized waist (at the back), front fly with snap closures and adjustable webbing belt
Gusseted crotch and articulated patterning
Two zippered hand pockets and one thigh pocket with laminated zippers
Laminated hem with static cord adjuster

"Fantastic pant" 12/18/12

They fit great, the pockets are huge and zippered (great for travel), the material is stretchy and apparently very durable to top it all off. The material is very thin and feels somewhat delicate. Great pant.

"Great pants for backpacking, hiking, camping and good enough for casual wear too!" 12/26/11

I was a little hesitant when looking at these as they are $169. WTH? For a pair of pants? Can they be that good? But I had a gift card so I ordered them. I have had them for a year now- I wore them backpacking in the desert and the Sierras and the local mountains, on day hikes, and camping. I wore them during a 4 hour hard rain and pea sized hail. They did wet through pretty quickly, but since I was still moving they were not cold. Once it stopped raining (I was still hiking) they dried out in about 30 minutes. I've also worn them to family gatherings and even to work when nothing else was clean. They have been washed at least 50 times and still look brand new. Yes, they are that good.

"It's not a must have." 11/12/11

The Gamma LT pant is a good choice when light rain is expected. It repels water and dries quite fast. But it seems like the stretchy material lets the water seep in easily. When in rain, once you get your knees wet, the whole pant gets drenched in no time. I'd rather choose the Palisade (with a bottom layer if needed) and bring along rain pants. The Palisade wicks better, is tougher, and smoother on your skin.

"Amazing & virtually bulletproof" 06/25/11

I absolutely love these pants for hiking in the Cdn Rockies. They provide every feature I can imagine needing except for rain protection - but I'm smart enough to stop hiking & get under my shelter in the rain.

"Very versatile set of pants." 02/06/11

The mobility in these pants is excellent. They are great for high exertion activities in the cold. I have already used them for curling and to play hockey this winter. I plan to use them for jogging and sailing in the spring time.The fitment of the pants is superb. There is quite a range of adjustment in the waist. The pant legs have a good amount of room without being baggy. My only complaint is that they do seem to run long. It would be nice if Arcteryx offered more inseams for the pants. I had to get the pants hemmed up several inches.

"great techincal pants" 03/04/10

these are a great pair of soft shell pants they are alittle pricy but really nice. i thaught they would be alittle thicker then they are but for the trail on a warmer day these are perfect. they are very water repelant, i wore them on a boat when it was pouring rain and they kept me dry going 25 knots for almost and hour which is good since even my gortex jacket let some water in that day. just make sure you wash them with a soft shell wash to keep the water repellancy

"lightweight and very comfortable" 12/02/09

I actually used these pants during a 14 hour hike in Interior Alaska (near Healy, AK) last month. It was between -5 and 5 degrees. I wore only a next to skin layer underneath.Granted, I was moving the entire time. If I had been sitting still in those temps, they would not have been sufficient, as they are not meant for those conditions. But, I was still impressed. I wore them because I knew I would be constantly moving and these pants are extremely comfortable, stretchy and moisture shedding.I have not used these in warmer temperatures but am curious as to how the fabric will perform in them.Great fit (slim) and look much better than in the picture.
