Platy has so many water holder options, and this will go on most any of the screw top ones! I love that it can be removed from my water bladder and hung to dry separately. Never had any problems with it. The new platy bladder design looks nice, but this older method has yet to fail me...no need to switch yet!
This is my third Platty hose, not because they're of bad quality, but because they're so good that my cat can't stop chewing through them when I forget to put it away after a long hike or day at the crag. I love Platty so much more than any other hydration system out there because it's tough as hell (never had one break) and light as a feather. This tube doesn't have the weird plastic taste that the older, clear colored Platty tube has. So if you have the old one and hate plastic taste, upgrade! And keep it away from your pets...
I have used my Platypus bladder for well over a decade. I originally used it when hunting doves. I find myself using it more and more, and it's still tough as nails.See the little white screw-in piece on the bladder end of the hose? That's the piece my dog chewed up; hence the replacement.
I'll say the same thing as I did in my platy bottle review... BUY THIS OVER A CAMELBAK. I wanted a bladder, but also wanted a bottle, and didn't want to take up tons of room in my backpack, so I bought this tube kit AND the play bottle for less than any of the camelbak bladders. That way I can have a bladder when I want it, and then when I'm ready for some bottle action, I unscrew this, screw on my push/pull cap, and I'm ready. I didn't know if this would be too much work, but it's not... It could not get any easier! Also, the hole in the mouthpiece looks tiny, but they're not kidding when they say 'hyperflow'...
