"best multi tool" 10/17/12
use every once and a while but when i need it i have it
"Solid multi-tool." 10/08/12
The Leatherman wave is a multitool classic. It includes enough tools to get the job done on a daily basis, The pliers are solid, and cut wire pretty impressively. The knife is one of my favorite parts about this particular tool. It has a decent grind and belly, and is more functional than comparable multitool blades. The 4 largest tools lock with a liner lock that seems sturdy enough. The screwdriver included is a socket-driver, and thus provides a measure of interchangeability. The fit and finish on the tool isn't spectacular, but this is solely a practical tool. There's nothing fancy about it. The case/sheath is decent, but there isn't much to be said about it.
"Excellent Tool" 12/07/11
I've had this tool for a number of years and it's always on my hip when I head outdoors. I've used it in the wilds of Canada and made boat repairs on Lake St. Clair. I love the fact you can open a few of the tools (knives/saw) using one hand. It has all the tools you need without being huge. Highly recommend.
"An effective everyday tool that works day after day" 10/29/11
I have had the Wave for just over a year now. In the summer I take it to work with me everyday and during the school year I always have it in my book bag. I have taken in on many trips, backpacking adventures, and hikes and it has always come in handy. When on the trails, and something breaks or stops working, the Wave can almost always fix it or rig it so that it will get the job done for the rest of the trip. I have used it for so many things over the past year such as fixing loose screws on my longboard and other places, opening packages, cutting rop, cutting through small branches, and repairing countless objects. It is also very sturdy and durable.
"The Tool to Rule All Tools" 08/29/11
This is my second wave. The first was gifted to a friend who didn't think a multi-tool was necessary for backpacking trips. He's a convert. I love the blade quality on this thing, the assortment of tools, how tight everything locks in, and the sheath that conveniently loops through the waistband on my pack. I would not take a trip without a multi-tool and this one does the job very well.
"Fantastic Little Piece of Genius!" 05/18/09
According to Les Stroud (Survivorman), a good multi tool is one of the only things he ALWAYS brings with him on his survivor missions. Reasons why this one rules:1. It's a leatherman2. Large amount of tools3. Light weight 4. Great Price5. Sexy!
"Excellent" 04/17/09
I've had the Wave for over 10 years and it has been indispensable. With this tool, all I really need for various little maintenance jobs is a hammer. The number and variety of tools is fantastic in a slim, portable package. Highly recommended.
"Great buy." 08/01/08
I've been using my leatherman wave for about two years now and I use it while backpacking and actually for all sorts of around the house things. This is the only bottle opener I own, the only pair of scissors I own and, indeed, the only saw I own. So I use it constantly. In fact, this is what I would have to use if I were to eat a steak...but I'm a vegetarian.
"If you need a multipurpose tool, then buy the leatherman" 12/01/07
I've had my leatherman for over 20 years and it has been the best multipurpose tool that you could ask for. Mine came with the Leatherman Micra a small version but I lost it soon after I got it
"These should be issued at birth but if you missed out, get one!" 10/06/07
How could you live without having a leatherman? These things will practically live your life for you! But if you give it a name and start calling it sweetheart you should seek therapy from a qualified professional, or email moosejaw with your psycological concerns.
"Awesome tool, you can't go wrong!" 05/09/07
Soon after buying this knife, I found myself in the heart of Glacier National Park without shelter and surrounded by a sleuth of bears. I quickly pulled out this glorious Leatherman and successfully fought off the menacing bears. I then erected a five-star shelter using the myriad of tools housed in the knife's sleek steel shell. The Wave saved my life!
