"The go-to strap for attaching things to your pack" 03/27/12
Do yourself a favor and drop the few extra quarters necessary to outfit your pack with truly high quality straps. The fabric is durable, fray resistant, and unlikely to fold or crimp while in use. The plastic buckles are sturdy and hold a tight cinch tightly but at the same time let loose easily. I use these to hold my sleeping pad to the outside of my pack, and when I'm bushwhacking I don't have to worry about them coming loose--ever. A totally worthwhile minor indulgence.
"Simple, strong. great buckles." 01/14/12
Buckles are crazy easy to undo but somehow still hold a ton of tension. Always go for the longer length straps. You'll kick yourself when you find you're lacking 1 inch vs having a few extra inches (snicker snicker). I've used these as a leash for a Gopro camera, cinch down my sleeping pad, keeping my backpack tight, and finally... fashioned a Gopro chest mount out of 2 of these and a belt. Works better than the real thing! **Note** buying one (1) of this product gives you 2 straps of equal length. Quantity of two (2) will give you 4 straps, etc. Not much else to say... straps that work with buckles that are easier than average to use.
"BUY THESE STRAPS" 12/22/10
Basically, if you have ever been in a position where you have to make something a little tighter or secure that extra something to the outside of your pack you want these straps. Not only are they very well constructed, but the buckles as well as the whoel rig is super lite. And besides all actual product being worth the what,10 dollars, OR gear has perhaps the best customer service and return/exchange policy in the outdoor gear market. Most of my gear from dry sacks to weather gear is OR and it's the best I have come accross yet.
"Well made, very useful, there is not a lot more you need to know" 03/20/10
Just to clarify, as it wasn't explicit and, as usual, I was pleasantly surprised when my MOOSEJAW package turned up, you get two straps when you order this item. I got the 48" as I wanted to be able to use one as a belt with my slightly oversize MH Synchro Pant (and after a couple of weeks in Denali, they're only going to get bigger on me!). I didn't want to risk the 36" in case there wasn't enough tail left to keep it secure. You might as well buy bigger anyway as you'll never have to worry about a bit of extra webbing, but will be livid if you are an inch or two short strapping all sorts of stuff to your pack after a week or two.
"Very handy to keep around." 09/07/07
I always keep a few extras of these packed away. And sure enough, on my last trip I somehow lost one that was holding a couple of Ridge Rests together. Luckily, an extra one was ready to go in its place.
