These things are the best shoes I've ever had. Just amazing how well my puppies hold up in these. You get what you pay for and with shoes it makes no sense to go cheap. Size was right on the money.
This is the best pair of shoes I've ever owned! They're comfortable, stylish, and great for just about any sport - hiking, running,... midget tossing, ANYTHING! They're durable and great for any weather condition, any season, anywhere on earth! KEWL!!
just ordered my second pair of these. had the first pair for two years. still going. ten hours a day on concrete floors, used heavily as a motorcycle shoe (10,000 miles per year) hunt, fish, hike on the weekends. done everything but had sex in these. probably good for that too. especially since they also make you look great. true story.
I just went for a 5 hour fall hike with this shoe which took me through dry trail, mud, and (this being "fall" in Calgary) snow. I was impressed with the support, grip and comfort.
The Eclipses are very comfortable on the trail as well as paved flat ground. I used them this past summer as a weekly go-to for day hikes and I must say, these shoes are excellent. My only qualm is their durability. Within two months of wear, I began to notice the soles coming apart around both toes. Soon afterward the leather upper began to rip across the shoe, thus eliminating the value of having Gore Tex waterproofing. All in all, they were great shoes while they lasted but you might want to reconsider something more durable for its intended use.
Great shoes. Very comfortable, and the Gore-Tex works great. I only wish I would have gotten boots that laced up passed the the ankle for extra support on rocky trails.
I love these shoes. Great padding, and the Gore-Tex does exactly what it's supposed to. My feet have been high and dry since I got these shoes. I only wish I would have gotten a pair that laced up passed the ankle to provide more support on rocky trails.
These are great shoes for the money. I haven't yet used them on the trail, but at work these Garmonts are fantastic. Super comfortable with a short break-in period. I highly recommend these shoes.
As soon as i wore them, i felt thinking "flyyyy like an eagle ta ta tata ta ta tata", you should buy them. Just one thing, running down hill you fell the bottons of the shoe.
"Comfortable and dry, just as advertised"

Ability to hold up to wear and tear is TBD, since I just bought these shoes but they are the most comfortable trail running shoe I have owned to date. Previously owned several generations of Salomon and North Face. Your foot sits high in the shoe, with good support. Been perfectly dry thus far too, walking through mud, wet grass and snow.
I was so amped to get these shoes. They were great the first two times I took them out. The third time I was not so lucky. After a day of climbing, I put on some thick socks and started my 2 mile trek back to the car. about a mile into the hike i was literally having to march in my shoes b/c my heels had become completely shredded. The "padding" over the heel stitching had worn away after the third hike! WTF?! I had these shoes fitted by an employee, so they fit when I bought them, my heel was not slipping in these shoes. Just a crappy manufacturing job. Totally ruined my climbing the next day b/c I couldn't put on a shoe.
