I have owned a few other cheap Alti\Baro watches and found the menus to be confusing and hard to navigate. The menus on my Suunto Core are very easy to learn and use. It took me no time at all to be able to find the setting that I needed and switch back and forth between modes. Can't wait to use this on my Quetico trip.

sunnto core series is a very powerful climbing the table, wearing it I go to a variety of high-altitude mountain, its function: Altitude timing temperature compass after a period of time I use, I mastered this table veryI feel its various functions to meet my needs.
I couldn't decide between the ambit and core but eventually ended up going with the core. I have had it for a few months and it has performed very well. It is very light and I find it rather comfortable. I am 100% satisfied with the time, alti & baro, and compass features and their sub features. I knew coming into the purchase that the thermometer reading was going to be off but that wasn't too important. The logs are excellent when skiing, backpacking, and mountaineering. To get the best performance keep it calibrated. Don't expect this to be the best everyday casual watch (although it does look good), but do expect it to be the best outdoor adventure watch.
"Simple to use. great quality...lack luster band though...."

So far I have only worn it around work, but doing back room in retail means things get banged up. so far its help up great, today i didn't check the weather and the storm alert let me know there was a storm coming(which there was briefly) and also gave me an idea that it was going to let up soon (again which it did)the menus seem hard at first...give it a day it becomes second nature. Now there's only 2 major downsides ive come across...the band just doesn't feel comfortable to me which is easy enough to fix i suppose and i do wish the back lighting was a little bit brighter. all in all though as my first ABC watch i gotta say im happy
"Versatile and reliable computer on your wrist"

This watch has traveled all over the world with me and been helpful a surprising amount. Other than the short battery life and need for frequent battery replacement, this watch is accurate, reliable, and low key in the black/black configuration. In Malaysia this watch helped me navigate along with a street map when I otherwise would have totally lost. Granted a compass would have worked, but glancing casually at the watch made me stand out less (at least I think so). In the mountains of New Mexico I was climbing Wheeler Peak and the storm alarm went off... 30 minutes later lightning and rain started coming down just as we reached the treeline on our descent.
"Great watch looks great and works great"

Great watch very accurate in giving you the weather forecast for the next few hours very important when in the outdoors. All other function work well as well. Its also very comfortable on the hand. The only down side is that it has a primary battery that you have to replace every now and then Un like the pathfinder that has a solar charger.

"Solid watch, good looking, difficult to use"

Firstly, the watch is outstanding. I have the Alu White, which not only looks great, feels solid in hand. Very well constructed. The barometer function works very well. The altimeter seems to be fairly accurate once set properly. Other functions are pretty normal. The one complaint I have about this watch is that the UI/Function control is not intuitive. It takes some time with the guides to figure things out. (I still have no idea how to reliably switch between alti/baro modes) However, the guides are decent enough to figure things out. But for me, this is not a watch that can be operated naturally. All in all, I have zero regrets on my purchase.
I have had no problems or complaints with the watch. Functions are easy to use and the watch is comfortable to wear. I like that it's light and don't really notice i'm even wearing it when im active. I have the black watch with the black face and it is a little hard to read sometimes but just push the backlight button and it's clear as day.
I was a G-Shock man until purchasing this watch. Now I am happy to have converted. This watch is lighter weight, but just as sturdy and the band is much more comfortable. Also, the temperature and sunrise/sunset data is accurate and dependable. I haven't used the altimeter or barometer yet, but if the other features are any indication, they will be great as well.
Suunto has always been on the cutting edge with their watch technology and this watch did not fall short in that category. HOWEVER for $300 they could have used a better quality plastic for the wrist band and casing. The "sapphire" glass they used gets fogged up pretty easily after swimming. Plus the watch feels very cheap when you hold it. That being said the watch still does some sweet things .... So if your looking for a quality wrist top computer and aren't worried about the quality of materials used then this watch is for you.
