"Choice as boots!" 03/01/13
Have been using these boots all over New Zealand for the past 4 months and they've exceeded my expectations on every trip. Recently did the Tongariro Crossing and 5 days through Abel Tasman National Park and they were fantastic. Super comfortable, light and stayed dry even when submerged almost ankle high in water, mud, sludge, sand, food spills, etc. Overall a good boot. Very happy with them, for the price you can't go wrong.
"Splendid Boot" 06/06/12
I recently just completed a two day hike with this boot where I was hiking over 12 miles a day. The boot kept my feet cool thanks to the mesh and dry thanks to the gore tex, which also keeps out sand. My feet tend to get very hot easily, but this boot kept them cool and comfortable throughout the hike. It worked great on hills and in sand. It also works great through puddles and muck. It kept my feet comfortable and dry providing support where they needed it.
"great fit and support" 10/20/11
These boots are comfortable even in a long day of use. This is the first pair of boots I found to have this kind of support. They are tight enough to keep my feet from shifting, and still roomy enough for comfort. In really hot days, my feet stay cool. When walking on the lake in the winter, my feet stay dry. The daunting search for a good pair of hiking boots is over! Word to the wise: Make sure to wear them a few times to break them in before heading out on a long adventure and wear socks longer than the ankle height.
"great fit and support" 10/20/11
These boots are comfortable even in all day hikes. They fit snuggly enough to keep my foot from shifting around, but never feel too tight. On hot days, my feet stay cool. I've even worn them in the winter for longer walks on the ice... my feet stay dry. Word to the wise: wear them around a bit before you have to be in them all day, and wear socks that are longer than the ankle of the boot.
"Great last minute buy!" 08/10/11
I literally bought this pair the day before I took off to hike in Glacier national park. It worked like charm without any breaking in! The soles are supportive, tough and yet comfortable. It was a definitely must have to hike 10 miles a day on all of those rocky trails! I can't quite command on how breathable they are... It's simply because I have sweaty feet, unless I'm wearing foot flops, my feet are going to get hot. But these boots definitely kept my feet dry during the whole trip, even with my foot completely immersed in the stream water. The best part is: I totally see myself wear it everyday once the weather gets cold!
"Endurance Pretty Good" 07/21/11
These boots survived four years of college backpacking trips on school breaks and a summer working as a hiking camp counselor. They are super comfortable and form to your foot. I have very small narrow feet and these were great! By the end, the tread was pretty much shot, one of the lace loops broke and the mesh was coming off, but I'm already planning on another pair. These shoes were dearly loved and endured a lot and never ONCE gave me blisters.
"Fit great on the first day" 06/24/11
The first time I wore these was in Big Bend National Park, and I found that even though I was hiking over 10 miles a day, my feet felt pretty ok. Now that they are broken in, they fit perfectly. I used them in the heat and they proved to have good ventilation. Although the boot isn't very heavy, it stood up to the rocky trail. Great boot!
"great boots" 06/08/11
The most notable thing about these boots is their waterproof-ness. I took these on a month-long trip to Peru and my feet were dry the entire time! Also, they are super comfortable and needed no break-in period for me (but I did put new insoles in them before I took them out). They are flexible and well ventilated, definitely cool enough for summer hiking but also warm enough on cold days. The only con is durability. After a couple months, the laces started to really break down and I wore a tear in the side of one of them near some of the webbing. Also, they melt really easily (woops), but I'd definitely buy them again.
"comfortable for narrow feet" 05/20/11
I tried on a bunch of lightweight boots, and many of them, particularly Keens, were way too wide on my narrow feet. These were great. Wore them hiking with very little break in, no blisters, totally comfortable.
"Keep my feet dry and blister-free" 05/12/11
I bought these shoes for a thru-hike of the AT. I have been very happy with them. I haven't experienced wearing them in rain yet, but so far they have been great when stomping through creeks and streams. I have worn them with one layer of smartwool socks and so far no blisters. I am normally a size 9.5 or 10, but I got these in a size 10.5 and they are a bit snug with my thick socks on.
