Backpacks

When you hit the trails for an overnight hike, or a fast and light five-day adventure, make sure you have the right pack to tote all your gear safely and comfortably. For a minimalist load, try an overnight pack on for size. With capacities between 2000 and 2999 cubic inches, these light, comfortable packs won't weigh you down. A weekend pack will tote enough gear for a two or three days with capacities between 3000 and 4500 cubic inches. If you're planning on getting serious about this whole backpacking thing, check out a 4500+ cubic inch capacity week-long pack, or a 5000+ cubic inch expedition pack.
Technical Daypacks

Daypacks

I was going to start a list of all thing things you can do with a daypack. So, I looked on the Internet to see if anyone had beat me to it. I got sidetracked and wound up spending three hours watching videos of kittens. Anyway, I already knew that a technical day pack is the way to go if you're looking for a fast and light pack that won't hold you back during a day hike or a climb. Check out a whole variety of daypacks for a whole variety of activities, from cragging to trailrunning. Find versatile, quality daypacks from the most trusted outdoor gear and backpack brands, like Gregory, Osprey, Deuter, and Mountain Hardwear.
Hydration Packs

Hydration Packs

Have you ever been somewhere far from a faucet, been kinda thirsty, and though to yourself "gee, I wish I had a whole bunch of water strapped to my back"? That's not a wish anymore, buddy. Now you can strap a whole bunch of water to your back. It's called a hydration pack, and it's not really as new as I'm making it out to be. Seriously, though, you can find hydration packs in a whole host of different capacities, so there's one for a shorter run and one for a day hike. Find hydration packs that are just the bladder for quick travel, or packs that are whole daypacks to carry the rest of your gear.
Laptop Bags

Laptop Backpacks

Tote your laptop, binders, and books to work or around campus in comfort with one of these way-cool backpacks. I'd say two of these way-cool backpacks, but I doubt you have two backs. Lightweight, comfortable styling and features galore make these work and school backpacks pretty awesome, if you ask me. Check out all sorts of laptop bags from outdoor gear brands like The North Face, Mountain Hardwear, Patagonia, and Arc'Teryx. A padded laptop sleeve protects your computer from shocks, and holds its weight close to your back in a more comfortable position.
